Dementia Congress 2011

We are witnessing increasingly sophisticated demands on the built form from people with varying needs including those living with physical impairments at a young age to older people with memory loss.

Pozzoni has carried out in depth research into the needs and daily lives of residents and staff in order to design buildings which can contribute to their care and general well being.

This experience has been achieved by undertaking international research to bring back the best knowledge and expertise in this sector.

Partner, Damian Utton undertook a worldwide study tour visiting over 70 homes built for people with varying degrees of dementia. His book 'Designing Homes for people with Dementia' provides an account of this research.

Damian's experience and understanding has been shared with our architectural reams and provides a clear benefit to their own design solutions.

This investment and insight has resulted in a number of industry award wins including the 'Best traditional Design in 2008' in the Pinders/Caring Business National Healthcare Design Awards for Belong Macclesfield and 'Best International Care Home' in the Design and Health International Academy Award 2010 for Belong Wigan.

We relish the challenge and detailed design of each and every scheme.
