Belong Villages double nomination
10 October 2011
Belong Atherton has been shortlisted in the National Dementia Awards 2011 for 'Best Interior Design'. In the same awards Belong Macclesfield has been shortlisted for 'Best Exterior Design'.
The National Dementia Awards is an exciting new set of awards that have been announced to recognise and reward those who have done most to help and care for people with dementia.
The organisers, the Journal of Dementia Care (JDC) have launched the National Dementia Care Awards 2011, which will take place during the latter part of 2011 culminating in an Awards Presentation Dinner on 03 November, as part of the UK Dementia Congress.
Sue Benson, Editor of JDC, said, “We believe the National Dementia Care Awards are timely and long-overdue, and will be a huge step forward in recognising and rewarding the exceptional commitment of those individuals and organisations who provide outstanding care for people with dementia.”
These awards are unique in that they are judged not merely on a written entry, but also in person by a panel of judges. Finalists will attend a judging day in October at the Hilton London Metropole Hotel, where they will have the chance to impress the judges prior to the decisions being made.
This method ensures that the judges have the best opportunity possible to decide between finalists based on merit, using personal interviews as well as a well-presented entry form.
The winners will then be announced at the Congress Networking and National Dementia Care Awards Presentation Dinner at the Pavilion, Bournemouth. This will be not only a fun and enjoyable evening, but most importantly a chance to celebrate the hard work and excellent practice of people who have dedicated their lives to working with people with dementia.
