Going the Extra Mile
17 April 2012
Vanessa Wall (pictured on the left) is in training to ensure that she is in tip top condition to take part in this year’s Manchester Marathon. She is taking to the streets to raise vital funds for Sale based charity Stockdales.
Vanessa will be among 8,000 runners taking part in the 26.2 mile marathon challenge around Trafford and Greater Manchester. Vanessa, 28 has always been involved with Stockdales as her older brother, Hew, lived there for most of his life until he very sadly died in 2003.
She is joined in her marathon mission by friend and colleague Greg Robinson, 31, from Timperley. Greg is a 3D Visualiser who works with Vanessa, Environmental Manager, at Pozzoni Architects in Altrincham. Pozzoni successfully designed two of Stockdales’ residential houses in Sale and also remodelled the existing buildings. Management and staff at the firm are giving Vanessa and Greg their full support.
Emma Morris Chief Executive of Stockdales said, ‘We are so grateful to our fund raising team; we will be supporting Vanessa and Greg every step of the way. Without supporters such as these we wouldn’t be able to continue the vital work we do in supporting young people and adults with learning disabilities.’
