Pozzoni gain consent to revive derelict area
07 September 2011
Our Manchester office has gained planning consent to start work on a mixed use scheme next to Halton Lea Shopping Centre, Runcorn. The area of land that is being redeveloped currently houses a former office block which has been derelict for 6 years. The demolition of the building will make way for a new Lidl, Ford Dealership and Pub.
Working closely with the planners, both Pozzoni and Client Opus Land have ensured that the redevelopment is fitting and creates a ‘gateway’ entrance to the area. Jamie Wood, Director at Pozzoni states “We wanted to ensure this was a valuable addition to the current area and not just another redevelopment that itself stands empty for years. It will be a focal point on the way into the area, and we have tenants ready to start on site ensuring that this previously derelict area is given a new lease of life.”
Building is due to start on site in October, with the basic infrastructure completed by February 2012. Tenants will start building on site soon after, with final completion expected to be around Spring 2013.
