Firswood Building, Xaverian College, Manchester

Xaverian Sixth Form College commissioned Pozzoni to carry out a three phase campus improvement works. The first phase included refurbishment of the existing Dining Hall and extending this facility into an existing Stable Block (that was previously used as the site maintenance office). The interior design of the refurbished facility provides a modern, vibrant environment, with a variety of social and study spaces for the College. The Stable Block has been opened up to the existing Playing Fields to provide view, light and access to this green and dynamic area.

The other half of the scheme is the re-provision of the maintenance office facilities in a purpose built facility located to the side of the main entrance. This has both re-provided the office, staff change/brew facilities and workshop, and also provided improved security to the main entrance. As part of these works the existing retaining wall was partially removed and replaced with stone walls to match the original walls and to improve the entrance vista into the College.

Pozzoni have continued their relationship with the College into the two phases of the new extension to the Redclyffe Building.
