EcoHomes

EcoHomes is the domestic version of BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) and was launched in 2000. The Code for Sustainable Homes replaced EcoHomes in 2007 as the accepted assessment method for new build housing but this standard is the most suitable for refurbishment projects until the new BREEAM Domestic Refurbishment standard is finalised and released later in 2011.

Understanding EcoHomes document.

EcoHomes is different to the Code in that it is a site wide assessment with the development only scoring as well as the worst case dwelling. It considers energy and water use, transport and local amenities, pollution, health and well being, materials and waste and rates sites as being an EcoHomes Pass, Good, Very Good or Excellent.

Pozzoni is licensed to conduct EcoHomes assessments by the Building Research Establishment (BRE) who provides independent quality assurance to ensure a high standard is maintained. We are able to provide EcoHomes assessments for all projects and daylight calculations form a part of this service.
